Job summary

This is a replacement post following the retirement of the incumbent Deputy Medical Director. This post holder will support the ICB Executive Medical Director, with the specific remit to lead on our Clinical and Care Professional Leadership programme and on supporting Clinical Transformation and Quality Improvement to deliver the ambitions of the Norfolk and Waveney Clinical Strategy and Joint Forward Plan.

The role is part-time, for up to 6 sessions per week commitment.

Main duties of the job

The Deputy Medical Director will lead on delivery of our Clinical and Care Professional Leadership CCPL manifesto.

They will work closely with the Executive Medical Director and Director of Nursing as part of the CCP council overseeing our programme of organizational development and training for CCPLs.

They will bring together our diverse CCP leaders and lead this community of practice. They will host faculty meetings and lunch and learn sessions and undertake regular surveys and needs analyses of our CCPs to ensure that we support them to be as effective as possible across the whole of our system.

The DMD will also play a key role in clinical stewardship, focusing on system wide clinical transformation, to drive delivery of the ICS clinical strategy and Joint Forward Plan. They will work particularly closely with the planned care and cancer clinical transformation team to support our ambitions to improve the quality of our services, streamline clinical pathways, and move them closer to the patient wherever appropriate. This is an exciting time to work in clinical transformation in Norfolk and Waveney, as we ready ourselves for the introduction of a single EPR for our three acute trusts, and longer term prepare for the building of two new hospitals as part of the National New hospitals programme.

The post holder will also be available to deputise for the Executive Medical Director across all aspects of their portfolio and will join the ICB Strategic (gold) on call rota.
