Job summary

OneNorwich Practices and Norfolk & Waveney Integrated Care Board (ICB) are pleased to be offering an exciting opportunity as the Head of Primary Care Development, Norwich.

This post is a collaboration between Norfolk & Waveney ICB and Norwich Primary Care Network. It requires the post holder to work closely with leaders from OneNorwich Practices, the Norwich Primary Care Network, and the Integrated Care Board in representing the work and views of both organisations.

The post holder will be responsible for supporting the Norwich PCN to achieve its vision, mission and strategy, whilst ensuring that the necessary assurance requirements are met.

You will have responsibility for collaborating with system and local PCN colleagues to develop innovations and implement strategic and operational aspects of primary Care as set out in the PCN DES and any future of Primary Care services, including emergent strategies such as the Fuller Stocktake that support general practice resilience through development and collaboration with local providers and teams.

The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, plus the ability to provide highly complex information about requirements, initiatives and services to a wide range of stakeholders in a formal setting.

Your competence and passion will be in working with others to support the maturity, effectiveness and success of the Norwich PCN and by doing so will generate improvements for local people.

Main duties of the job

  • Provide expertise that will support Norwich PCN to achieve its vision, mission and strategy, while ensuring the necessary assurance requirements are met.
  • Work collaboratively with system and local PCN colleagues to develop and implement strategic and operational aspects of primary care as set out in the, PCN DES, and emergent strategies such as the Fuller recommendations.
  • Line manage the ICB PCN Development Team (Norwich), supporting their professional development, work programmes that are aligned to achieve aims, and to work with other parts of the PCN and ICS as appropriate.
  • Work to achieve high quality provision and resilience of general practice by working with others to develop and implement locally agreed strategies and plans, and support quality improvement approaches that benefit all concerned.

The post holder will champion:

  • A strong person-centred focus and drive improvements in the way people are able to access the care they need, such as supporting practices with PCN developments.
  • Working with local PCN leads to identify, develop and implement Place focused opportunities that provide person centred care that is closer to their home.
  • Improvements and effectiveness of the Norwich PCN infrastructure, including but not limited to: engagement and co-production strategies, PCN neighbourhood meeting structures, governance arrangements, local agreements and flow of information and intelligence between partners.
