Key Responsibilities
Project manage the support of a cohort of participants, managing own time and
workload within scope and available resources
Contribute to Operational Group network of workplace leads to raise issues and share
good practice
Delivery of induction training for all NHS organisations who sign up for the BHAWA
Delivery of frequent health advocate training and regional networking events covering
multiple Place and local authority boundary areas
Provide specialist health improvement advice to NHS workplaces which supports the
education and care of staff within the workplace setting
Support for designated participating organisations to deliver relevant activity and
successfully complete an assessment submission
Plan and organise broad and complex projects which will need to be adjusted
according to change in priorities
Close working with fellow post-holder to ensure consistency of delivery, support
participants, showcase and develop the workstream
Communication
Engage with primary care organisations about the benefits of participation in the
programme, advocating public health principles and action to protect and improve
health and wellbeing
Develop and maintain stakeholder relationships at all levels
Support participating organisations post-sign up through e-mail/telephone
conversations, face-to-face visits, and provision of/signposting to resources
Cascade relevant communication and information from local and regional sources,
signposting to relevant local/ regional health and wellbeing services
Analytical and Judgement Skills
Influence and negotiate with a range of partners to build relationships, manage conflict,
encourage contribution, and sustain commitment to deliver shared objectives
The ability to assess, analyse and interpret complex health data and information
associated with the programme. This will include supporting NHS organisations who
sign up to the aware to interpret complex data for example supporting them to analyse
and interpret staff health needs assessments and compare options
Complete regular project status progress reports, identifying and escalating project
delivery risks as appropriate, reporting progress in specific actions and key
performance indicators
Planning and Organisational Skills
To plan and deliver a programme of specialist public health training that includes
complex and sensitive information for large groups of staff within organisations
involved in the BHAWA. This will include staff at all levels from clinicians to primary
care support staff
Physical Skills
Physical skills obtained through practice e.g., advanced keyboard
Patient and Client Care
Contact with the care of patients/clients is incidental
Policy and Service Development
Establish and maintain policies, systems, and standard operating procedures to
support the effective running of the programme. This will include liaising with partners
to propose and agree project changes and service improvements
Individuals also have a responsibility to make themselves aware of all relevant policies
and procedures, Standing Financial Instructions, Standing Orders, and procedural
documents of the ICB
All individuals must adhere to the NHS and ICB's Constitutions at all times, ensuring
probity and accountability in the day to day running of the ICB and open and
transparent decision making in line with your duty of candour
Financial and Physical Resources
Authorise and monitor expenditure against the available budget for the programme in
conjunction with the BHAWA Coordinator and provide regular updates to the budget
holder. Postholder will be required to work with ICB finance lead
Human Resources
Attend all mandatory training and ensure compliance with all applicable legal
requirements, fully recognising the NHS's responsibility with regard toData Protections
and Information Governance
InformationResources
Ensure the completion and submission of timely and appropriate information and data
to the Co-ordinating organisation for the BHAWA regional information system
Research and Development
Conduct pre-assessment and assessment of participants against the award criteria
Freedom to Act
Act as the main point of contact for NHS organisations participating in the programme,
acting as the specialist health improvement project lead
The postholder has the freedom to act within the clearly defined BHAWA framework,
policies and operating guidelines
Responsible for managing their workload under supervision
Expected to escalate any risks or issues early to their line manager proposing
mitigations to risks and solutions for managing any project issues
EFFORT & ENVIRONMENT
Physical
Light physical effort, including laptop / computer use

Concentration required for checking documents and writing reports.
Emotional
Work tasks on occasions may involve issues of a sensitive or contentious nature
All staff are expected to be adaptable and flexible to the needs of the organisation

Hybrid working arrangements to be agreed with line manager
Some travel regionally maybe required

will be asked to carry out other duties which are appropriate to the skills of the post holder
and grade of the post as the priorities of the service change and/or to ensure business
continuity.
Key Relationships
Internal
The post holder will be required to work closely with fellow post-holder
External
The post holder will be required to work closely with NHS primary care organisations. They
will also work with the TUC (Award co-ordinators), local authorities, other relevant
stakeholders and Office for Health Improvement and Disparities (OHID).
General Terms

mindful of safeguarding when commissioning services and use the expertise of Designated
professionals when developing service specifications. All staff need to be aware of relevant
ICB policies in relation to safeguarding and must take part in training as identified within the
ICB Safeguarding Training Strategy, in line with the requirements of the intercollegiate
documents for child and adult safeguarding.
