Job summary
North East and North Cumbria Integrated Care Board have an exciting
opportunity for a safeguarding professional with significant safeguarding
experience and leadership skills to manage and develop systems and processes
for safeguarding adults within the recently established ICB.
Applicants should have extensive experience and knowledge of the
Safeguarding Adults agenda including Mental Capacity Act, Domestic Abuse Act,
Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards, and the proposed implementation of Liberty
Protection Safeguards.
Main duties of the job
The successful applicant will be required to deliver the ICBs statutory responsibility for safeguarding adults, across South Tyneside.You will need well developed
partnership working skills across a range of sectors, particularly with the
Local Authorities and the Police who are the statutory partners for
safeguarding adults including support to local MAPPA, Prevent and Channel
arrangements.
Commissioning experience would be beneficial as the post holder will
also be required to influence all commissioning decisions involving NHS and Non
NHS contracts.
You will be required to ensure the ICB's statutory compliance reporting
to the Director of Nursing, and ICB Executive teams as required to provide
assurance and to manage escalation of any risks or concerns relating to Adult
Safeguarding.

Provide strategic, professional
leadership and specialist advice to ICB colleagues working at Place, Executive
Leads and the Local Safeguarding Adults Boards against local and national
strategic delivery plans and statutory legal requirements.
Provide and be responsible for
monitoring a framework for commissioning high quality research-based
safeguarding and be a source of expertise across health and social care sectors
on all matters regarding planning, strategy and identifying any gaps in service
provision with regards to the safety of vulnerable adults and adult victims of
domestic abuse.
Lead and contribute to specific
programmes of transformation and redesign together with all providers of adult
services, to deliver improved outcomes for vulnerable adults in relation to
safeguarding across South Tyneside.
