A unique opportunity has arisen for a Director of Population Health, working in the largest Integrated Care System in the country, serving a population of approximately 3.2m across the North East and North Cumbria. We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Director of Population Health to join our Medical Directorate. At the North East and North Cumbria Integrated Care Board, we are committed to providing high-quality care and support to our community.

The postholder will have significant public health leadership and system level experience including leading and delivering complex change, service transformation and strategy development in a politically sensitive and complex environment. In line with legislation, inclusion in the GMC Full and Specialist Register with a license to practice/GDC or Specialist List or inclusion in the UK Public Health Register (UKPHR) for Public Health Specialists at the point of application. The postholder will operate strategically across the ICB corporate directorates including the six local delivery teams (LDTs); and be a key interface between the ICB and ICP.

Our Integrated Care Board (ICB) is the largest in the country.
The ICB is responsible for ensuring that high quality and safe health services are accessible to all of our communities. It has a wide range of functions, including; promoting integration of health and care services, improving peoples health and well-being, reducing health inequalities.
With a £6.6 billion budget and a workforce of 170,000 people across the North East and North Cumbria. As well as strategic functions, ICB staff also work at place level with local health and wellbeing boards in each of our 14 local authority areas. These teams also work alongside our 67 primary care networks which are groups of local GP practices, social care teams and other community- based area providers.
The ICB works with our Provider Collaborative too, this includes the 11 NHS Foundation Trusts in the region, to deliver our shared priorities.

- Inclusion in the GMC Full and Specialist Register with a license to practice/GDC Specialist List Or Inclusion in the UK Public Health Register (UKPHR) for Public Health Specialists
- If an applicant is UK trained in Public Health, they must ALSO be a holder of a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT), If an applicant is non-UK trained, they will be required to show evidence of equivalence to the UK CCT
- Applicants must meet minimum CPD requirements (i.e. be up to date) in accordance with Faculty of Public Health requirements or other recognised body
- MFPH by examination, by exemption or by assessment
- Masters in public health or equivalent

- If included in the GMC Specialist Register/GDC Specialist List in a specialty other than public health medicine/dental public health, candidates must have equivalent training and/or appropriate experience of public health practice
- Strong experienced senior leader adept at leading change in a complex and dynamic environment, with an engaging, adaptable, leadership style which connects with people at all levels.
- Media experience demonstrating delivery of effective health behaviour or health promotion messages.
- Experience of using complex information to explain public health issues to a range of audiences.
- Significant experience of managing people/teams.
