Job summary

Main duties of the job

We are seeking two Primary Care Support Officers to work as a key members of the ICB's Dental commissioning and contracting team whose overarching goal is to deliver an exciting and challenging primary care dental commissioning and transformation programme across the North East and North Cumbria. As a Primary Care support officer, you will work as part of a dynamic team, in delivering an effective service supporting the delivery of all elements of the commissioning cycle including, service specification development, procurement, contract management/monitoring and service evaluation and review. The successful candidate will have: knowledge of administrative procedures, project management and information analysis, excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritise, good oral/written communications skills with the ability to communicate complex information to a wide range of stakeholders, the ability to work on own initiative, organising and prioritising own and others workloads to changing and often tight deadlines, the ability to pull together comprehensive draft reports, data and letters.

With a £6.6 billion budget and a workforce of 170,000 people across the North East and North Cumbria. As well as strategic functions, ICB staff also work at place level with local health and wellbeing boards in each of our 14 local authority areas. These teams also work alongside our 67 primary care networks which are groups of local GP practices, social care teams and other community- based area providers.

The ICB works with our Provider Collaborative too, this includes the 11 NHS Foundation Trusts in the region, to deliver our shared priorities.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Educated to Degree level in a relevant subject or equivalent level of qualification or significant equivalent previous proven experience.
  • Knowledge of administrative procedures, project management or information analysis.
  • Knowledge of project principles.
  • Previously worked in similar position within the public sector.
  • Commitment to continuing professional development

Desirable

  • Qualified in Prince 2 project management or equivalent
