We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Contract Officer to join our Contracting and Procurement team. At North East and North Cumbria Integrated Care Board, we are committed to providing high-quality care and support to our community.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will provide a key supporting role to the Contract Programme Lead and wider Contracting and Oversight Team across NENC ICB. They will have a key role and focus in supporting the achievement of the ICB strategic objectives and delivery of our ambitious programme for transformation and improving quality through the agreement and management of clear and robust contractual arrangements with providers.

The main role of the Contract Officer is to be the lead for a portfolio of NHS, private and third-sector service provider contracts. The Contract Officer is the first point of contact between the ICB and providers and acts as the effective liaison between the providers and the commissioners of the service. The Contract Officer is an externally facing role and the post holder will be expected to interact with different providers on a daily basis. The Contract Officer is also to provide administrative support to other members of the team who manage high-risk or high-value provider contracts, or who have responsibility for cross-portfolio work areas.

The contracts in the portfolio of the Contract Officer can expire at different times of the year, and provider performance or payment issues can arise unexpectedly, and the Contract Officer needs to be able to respond quickly to changing priorities and manage their own workload.
