Job summary

This is an exciting secondment opportunity within the North East and North Cumbria (NENC) Integrated Care Board (ICB) for a Band 7, Programme Lead within the NENC Local Maternity and Neonatal System (LMNS) Programme Management Office. The role will provide specific Programme Lead support to the LMNS Public Health and Prevention work programme.

The successful candidate will live by our Values and Behaviours and help to achieve the ambitions and key priorities of the ICB. You will also contribute to shaping the future across newly formed teams.

The nature of the role demands a significant degree of autonomy, the ability to manage and respond to day-to-day challenges as well as a high degree of intellectual flexibility. You will have excellent communication and engagement skills and meet the essential criteria outlined within the Job Description.

Please note, due to available funding this role is fixed term until the 31st March 2025.

Main duties of the job

To support the LMNS Head of Public Health and Prevention in delivery of the Public Health and Prevention programme of work.

This post will provide specific programme lead support to the LMNS Public Health and Prevention programme of work which includes but is not limited to:

Infant Feeding;

Maternal Healthy Weight; and

Pregnancy Anticipatory Care.

Support senior leads to develop and write project plans incorporating key project milestones to ensure the achievement of strategic aims.

Maintain the project initiation documentation, communication tools and associated plans are available and used to their maximum value in a timely manner.

Project planning required for ongoing projects which are broad in scope and involve complex activities, where there is a significant likelihood of adjustment to plans throughout the project life cycle.

The ICB is responsible for ensuring that high quality and safe health services are accessible to all of our communities. It has a wide range of functions, including; promoting integration of health and care services, improving peoples health and well-being, reducing health inequalities.

With a £6.6 billion budget and a workforce of 170,000 people across the North East and North Cumbria. As well as strategic functions, ICB staff also work at place level with local health and wellbeing boards in each of our 14 local authority areas. These teams also work alongside our 67 primary care networks which are groups of local GP practices, social care teams and other community- based area providers.

The ICB works with our Provider Collaborative too, this includes the 11 NHS Foundation Trusts in the region, to deliver our shared priorities.

  • Degree level qualification or equivalent
  • Master's level qualification or equivalent experience
  • Health care experience is essential with a demonstrable track record of success in NHS organisation.
