Job summary

This is a new post for a Junior Data Analyst within a progressive an innovative Data and insights team within South Yorkshire ICB.

We are looking to recruit a band 4 analyst who is willing to proactively learn and develop their skills and knowledge in health care and engage in a diverse role where producing reports and analysis is key to ensure the organisation making good data driven decisions. This role would suit an individual wanting to develop new skills with a view to develop a career within Data & Insights, including the opportunity to dovetail this role with an apprenticeship (Level 4).

This role will expose you to a wide number of different datasets and technical tools, Partners across different organisations including Public Health, Secondary care, Primary Care and Community and many more working to improve the lives and health of the people of South Yorkshire.

The role is 37.5 hours and will involve a hybrid working model with time spent at our Eyre Street site in Sheffield, Home working and may include travel to our sites across South Yorkshire in Barnsley, Rotherham, and Doncaster or external meetings at our partner sites.

Main duties of the job

You will be responsible for the provision of information and data management to support all areas of the ICB and our partners.

The key objectives of the post are:

  • Collate, validate, analyse and present patient activity and information to support performance management, commissioning and Senior Managers.
  • Be responsible for owning and developing reports, dashboards and analysis automating where appropriate and ensuring products are accurate, fit for purpose and innovative. Bring to the attention of senior managers any anomalies in information, ideas for new ways of working and details of any potential blockers to tasks.
  • Represent the department at internal and external meetings regarding the information and data needs of the organisation.
  • Be responsible for ensuring the quality of data in the work we produce and ensuring we are compliant with IG rules.
  • This is a very varied role and as a team we all pitch in to do whats needed, the post holder will be doing various levels of tasks, from admin support to the team, Using our Dev Ops system to track work and ensure incoming requests are logged on the system to ensure flow through, working with our data centre colleagues to onboard new data sets.
