Job summary

This post will work across the South Yorkshire Integrated Care System to project manage the SY ICB Community Pharmacy Independent Prescribing Pathfinder Programme and SY ICB Lipid Optimisation Programme. The post will support the implementation and evaluation of the Community Pharmacy Independent Prescribing Pathfinder Programme and the Lipid Optimisation Programme. As a Project Manager (PM) within the ICS, you will be responsible for developing, delivering and evaluating multiple projects to time, within cost and quality criteria and meeting a range of stakeholder requirements. Within these programmes there are multiple workstreams which all require PM support. Key areas of focus for the post holder(s) will be ensuring clinical engagement with clinical model development and implementation of pathfinder sites as well as targeted interventions within the lipid optimisation programme to support CVD prevention.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will coordinate the SY ICB Community Pharmacy Independent Prescribing Pathfinder Programme and SY ICB Lipid Optimisation Project. They will develop and maintain project documentation and be responsible for reassessing against delivery timescales, risks and deliverables. This will require working with numerous stakeholders across South Yorkshire to ensure the successful delivery across all aspects of the projects. Therefore, it will need someone who is motivated, organised and able to work to short timelines.

The post will require analysing data to submit returns to the AHSN and producing a summary report. The learning from the projects will need to be shared across the organisation and legacy plans developed.

The post holder will work closely with the Community Pharmacy Clinical Lead and SY ICB Integrated Medicines Optimisation (IPMO) PMO team as well as the CEO for Community Pharmacy South Yorkshire, and the SY ICB CVD Prevention leads.

Job responsibilities

  • Provide excellent project management and co-ordination of a broad range of complex activities within multiple projects across a range of partners and stakeholders. Many of which will require constant re-assessment of delivery timescales and plans where activities run behind schedule or delays are caused by interdependencies across plans.
  • Develop and maintain a mixed portfolio of core project documentation, in line with the SY ICB PMO framework, working to agreed standards in line with PRINCE/MSP project management methodology commensurate with the scope and complexity of the initiatives being supported.
  • Develop and maintain multiple project plans which reflect the complexity of managing projects working with multiple partners and meeting a range of stakeholder requirements which detail tasks assigned to resources and assess impact on plans where any slippage in timescales occurs.
  • Monitor, record and report progress made within each project/activity within the work stream ensuring reporting and appropriate escalation of key risks and issues which may impact on project success through the relevant project governance.
  • Set up and maintain project progress meetings at the required frequency depending on project stage, ensuring accurate taking of formal notes to inform revised project plans and approach.
  • Manage own workload and make informed decisions independently on behalf of projects with appropriate and timely escalation of relevant risks and issues to the IED Programme Manager or other designated contact within the SY ICB.
  • Ensure effective communication and negotiation acting as a key link between the projects and stakeholders (including NHS, YHAHSN, voluntary and charitable organisations) to ensure the successful delivery of a range of complex projects. This will often involve careful negotiation where delivery plans need to be changed whilst managing stakeholder expectations.
  • Present complex information to stakeholders, where appropriate including analysis of primary and secondary care data, statistics used to inform project planning and presentations to stakeholders/at events as required.
