Job summary
South Yorkshire Integrated Care Board and South Yorkshire & Bassetlaw Cancer Alliance are forward thinking and dynamic organisations which focus on delivering joined up services and improving outcomes and tackling inequalities in outcomes and patient experience.
The post holder will be a member of the wider NHS South Yorkshire Communications and Engagement team but will be working specifically for the South Yorkshire and Bassetlaw Cancer Alliance.
Working with the Comms and Engagement Lead for the Cancer Alliance, the post holder will support with media relations, awareness campaigns, web and intranet management and briefings for key internal and external stakeholders.
The post holder will be expected to support the wider communications and engagement team on occasion.
Main duties of the job
Fixed term position until 31st March 2024.
The post holder will be expected to develop close working relationships with the Cancer Alliance senior management team and programme leads in order to develop content that is relevant, meets the needs of stakeholders and promotes the work of the Alliance.
The post holder will take the lead on developing and embedding a strong social media plan, increasing the activity and engagement on all platforms. They will also be responsible for creating and updating content on the website.
In addition to the wider communications responsibilities, the post holder be responsible for writing and distributing a monthly Cancer Alliance newsletter, developing and maintaining a distribution list of stakeholders and ensuring the content of the newsletter meets the needs of the audience and promotes the work of the Cancer Alliance.
Working closely with the Comms and Engagement Lead and the Engagement Officer, the post holder will promote the work of the Patient Advisory Board to key stakeholders.

activity for NHS South Yorkshire working specifically with the South Yorkshire
