Job summary
An exciting new role of Associate Independent Non-Executive Member - we are looking for two individuals who can give 15 hours per month commitment to the role. This will be for 12 months on a contract for services basis.
We

We are a new
NHS body, established to oversee healthcare across South Yorkshire. After full

the Board.

they needed more experience or were just unsure about applying. If you are one

We want to
appoint someone to work alongside our Board, offer their views, participate
fully in our discussions, and gain real experience of an NHS Board to be in a
stronger position to apply for a future role with us, or elsewhere within the
NHS, over the next two years or so.

Main duties of the job
You will work alongside the Chair,
other non-executives, associates, executive directors and partner members as an
Associate member of a unitary board

About us
NHS South Yorkshire Integrated Care Board oversees health
and social care for a population of 1.4m people. Working through our four places, Barnsley, Doncaster, Rotherham, and Sheffield, we are building on the
strengths, capacity and knowledge of all those directly involved with our local
communities to deliver our four key aims of Improving outcomes in
population health and healthcare; Tackling inequalities in outcomes, experience
and access; Enhancing productivity and value for money; and Helping the NHS
support broader social and economic development.

practices in the region, 72,000 health and social care professionals working
across nine NHS trusts and four local authorities, and a further 6,000
voluntary, community and social enterprise sector (VCSE) organisations. We work
alongside all these colleagues through local councils, our VCSE
partners and other partners to address health inequalities and wider
determinants of health in South Yorkshire.

- Assisting with setting the vision, strategy and clear objectives for the SYICB in delivering on the four core areas, the triple aim of improved population health, quality of care and cost-control.

- Promoting dialogue and consensus with local government and broader partners, to ensure effective joint planning and delivery for system working and mutual accountability.
