Job summary
South Yorkshire and Bassetlaw Cancer Alliance is looking for a motivated individual to join our Performance and Intelligence Team as a Senior Database Information Developer. The Performance and Intelligence team includes a wide range of skills from performance management to dashboard design, analytics, and data warehousing. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual to build and develop their career within business intelligence.
This role is to support the Performance and Intelligence Team in its duties of providing robust intelligence for the Cancer Alliance and to partner organisations. This role will have direct responsibility in designing, building, and managing the data warehouse, with an emphasis on catering for South Yorkshire and Bassetlaw Cancer Alliance products.
Main duties of the job
- Take a lead role in building and maintaining the Data Warehouse ensuring it meets requirements including the storage and retrieval of important organisational clinical and non-clinical data as and when required
- Provide day-to-day maintenance of the Data Warehouse as a ICB asset, maintaining the Data Warehouse reference tables and documentation as appropriate, and ensuring a robust metadata is maintained to maximise benefits of objects within the Data Warehouse
- Develop and maintain the IT tools to import extracts from various portals or data marts into the ICBs Data Warehouse, to enable Information, Performance, Contracting, Clinical, Quality and Governance staff to reconcile activities, and performance.
- Ensure information and reports available in the Data Warehouse are of excellent quality, fit for purpose in relation to business/clinical needs and meet user requirements.
The key skills required are:
- Advanced SQL programming skills
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio
- Significant experience with Data Warehousing in terms of design, structure, and technologies.
- Experience with end-user report development, from requirement gathering to design, build, test, and deployment.
Additional desirable knowledge of using Microsoft Power BI, Microsoft Data Factory and Storage Browser and Azure SQL Database would be an advantage but not essential.

Data Warehouse Development
