Job summary

NHS South Yorkshire are looking for an enthusiastic self-motivated individual to join our team as a Installations and Deployment Engineer.

The role will involve the installation and deployment of equipment across NHS South Yorkshire and Partner organisations.

Working alongside colleagues within the IT operations team, and wider Digital, Data and Technology function. The role is central to the provision of a high performing friendly and professional customer driven service.

Main duties of the job

Deployment and installation of hardware assets and software.

Performing asset audits and being a contact for end users to ensure the smooth running of equipment provided by NHS South Yorkshire.

Job description

Job responsibilities

  • Ensure new installations and deployments are correctly documented and support information available.
  • Ensure IT service incidents and requests are responded to and resolved or fulfilled within SLA. This will involve prioritisation of workload during busier periods.
  • Maintaining focus on task in hand if interrupted by service users or colleagues with escalations or queries.
  • Communicate complex IT issues with non-technical staff in way that is understandable and delivering clear instructions to service users.
  • Work with suppliers and customers to correctly install and deploy equipment.
  • Work alongside colleagues both technical and non-technical to ensure correct installation and deployment of equipment.
  • Work closely with the configuration analyst to ensure that all equipment is built to correct quality standards and correctly tracked with the Asset management system.
