Job summary
The role provides support to deliver the
Designated function for Safeguarding Children. The post holder will be
instrumental in working across the Safeguarding Partnerships and providing
highly skilled leadership, advice and guidance in relation to Safeguarding
Children.
Main duties of the job
Assist the Designated Nurse Safeguarding Children in providing the
strategic lead on all aspects of the health service contribution to
safeguarding children and the provision of services for children in Rotherham
and also including supporting the safeguarding development across South
Yorkshire Integrated Care Board.

the ICB, external stakeholders, and partners to meet and monitor performance
and compliance requirements within the national and local safeguarding agenda
and inspection frameworks

Lead on providing advice for any safeguarding issues in
the commissioning and contracting of high quality services and will provide
expert input into strategic and clinical planning, standard setting, and
assurance processes in provider services. This will involve advising service
planners and providers of the services required to meet their needs and
contributing to ensuring the quality of the provision.

Promote an evidenced based service, developing effective
inter-disciplinary and inter agency relationships to improve the outcomes for
children. The role includes working with the Rotherham Children Safeguarding
Partnership (RCSP) at a system level to ensure children are safeguarded in
accordance with Working Together to Safeguard Children 2023.

Support the ongoing effective function of the
Multi Agency Safeguarding Hub.

Work with the Designated Nurse Safeguarding Children to
provide the professional leadership and consultancy to all provider services
on all aspects of safeguarding children

Deputise for Designated Nurse when required.

Support the Designated Nurse and the ICB in monitoring
and reviewing the health component of Rapid Reviews, Safeguarding Practice
Reviews, Learning Lessons Reviews, and domestic homicide reviews which
involve children in the family, and which may on occasion contain
distressing/emotional information.

various multi-agency forums

Work in partnership
with the Local Authority in the development and delivery of the RCSP Business
plan and act as a voice for the health element of the plan
