Job summary

The South Yorkshire Primary Care team is currently seeking a Band 4 Business Support Administrator. This person will work as part of a vibrant team with a broad range of responsibilities.

The business support team deliver work on GP, Pharmacy and Optometry contracts and provide project support to help deliver transformation in primary care.

Main duties of the job

You will work as part of a business support team and alongside the wider Primary Care team. Responsibilities include (but not be limited to) the following:

Administration to support management and assurance of GP, Pharmacy and Optometry contracts.

Facilitating meetings including circulating agendas and papers and minuting meetings.

Managing sign-up and claims against services with a high level of attention to detail.

Project management support and working autonomously on elements of projects.

Finance tasks such as raising purchase orders and receipting invoices and using other payment systems.

Maintaining systems and trackers to ensure timely and accurate access to information.

The South Yorkshire Primary Care Team is responsible for commissioning, contracting, implementation of transformational programmes and monitoring delivery across independent contractor groups (medical, pharmaceutical and optometry) which equates to approximately 600 contracts. The team is actively involved in the delegation arrangements between SY ICB and NHS England for primary care services, including the delivery of key national programmes including the Primary Care Access Recovery Programme, the new Pharmacy First programme and delivery of the SY Primary Care Strategy. In addition, the team leads on various system level programmes of work and with our 4 Places and wider primary care delivery partners to develop, implement and monitor delivery of the core contractual and regulatory requirements associated with Pharmacy, Medical and Optometry contracts.

The post holder will provide support across a range of business support activities and play a key role in supporting the team. They will be expected to develop and implement efficient and effective systems to support the primary care team, including the use of database and spreadsheet software and to have a customer focused approach to delivering high quality work, including the organisation and co-ordination of meetings, the taking of accurate minutes, the timely distribution of agendas, minutes and disseminating information to a range of internal and external stakeholders.
