The post holder will work as part of a team delivering an efficient and effective Business support service within the Sheffield place Continuing Healthcare team (CHC).

General administrative tasks will be undertaken by the post holder on a regular basis to support the team and wider business support function. The type of task may vary from day to day and some may be performed on an ad-hoc basis in line with needs of the service.

The role is predominately office based due to meeting the needs of the service although there can be flexibility on occasion subject to agreement.

Main duties of the job

  • Answering routine telephone calls some of which could be sensitive in nature, taking messages, and passing on information accurately to the relevant departments/person.
  • Undertaking administrative duties such as photocopying, printing, scanning and the outgoing. This includes funding letters, PHB agreements, Offer of Care Letters and other key pieces of information
  • Sorting and prioritising all incoming mail and distributing as appropriate in line with managers guidance and CHC processes
  • Accessing patient information systems such as Systm One to answer queries, adhering to regulations around confidentiality.
  • Respond to queries from the team, patients or external stakeholders.
  • Working together with other administrators/PAs across the organisation to provide an effective network of communication including dealing with visitors and being flexible to cover other administrators general duties.
