Job summary

The Senior Programme Manager is a pivotal role which will oversee the governance and delivery process for all projects within the agreed delivery plan. These projects may span across organisations in all sectors within Lancashire and South Cumbria including providers, commissioners and third sector stakeholders. They will be critical to the development of business case propositions where a transformational approach contingent on financial investment and return may be required.
This post is only open to internal applicants and candidates within the NHS in the Lancashire and South Cumbria patch.
Main duties of the job
- Support the Senior Responsible Officer and Portfolio Directors for this programme to ensure that the portfolio of tasks/projects is planned, managed and delivered effectively.
- Identify key deliverables for the programme, milestones and outcomes and produce a schedule for delivery
- Lead the coordination, development, preparation and implementation of programme and project plans to agreed milestone delivery dates, resolving issues, and initiating corrective action as appropriate
- Set up and plan the project(s) including project steering groups, project assurance function and any project teams, including project documentation
- Contribute to the development of business case proposals outlining investment and potential return on investment.
- Maintain the programme governance arrangements to ensure a robust audit trail of project outputs, outcomes, and benefits.
- Provide high quality project, service, initiative and administrative support including information and analysis
- Undertake reporting and analysis of information to support delivery including provision of strategic reports and briefings for the programme board and other audiences
- Work internally and externally to engage key stakeholders to ensure delivery of projects, initiatives and services to time and in a cost-effective way.
- Support the portfolio of programmes/projects in demonstrating value for money tracking, managing and delivering agreed benefits
