Job summary

It is an exciting time to join us and help shape our response to the key area of mental health, supporting the delivery of our strategic plans. This role will initially focus on providing support to our programme to transform physical healthcare services to our patients with a severe mental illness, and to improve patient outcomes and experiences. However, you will also be required to support the wider health inequalities workstream in the strategic development, integration, and innovation (SDII) hub.

You will need to be an experienced project/programme support officer with a track record of supporting service development and transformation across complex systems and organisational boundaries, educated to Degree level, or experience of working at a similar level. A formal project management qualification is also desirable, or demonstrable knowledge and experience.

Co-production is core to our transformation programme and so you must be able to demonstrate experience of working in a person-centred way. Providing and analysing data will also be a key requirement of the role and so you will need to have excellent excel and data interpretation skills.

Main duties of the job

Key duties will include:

This will include the management of workshops and leading, or where necessary supporting, short-term working groups developing and implementing improved and standardised ways of working across the system.
  • To carry out process mapping and analyse and interpret complex management information to inform improvement recommendations.
  • To establish mechanisms for quantifying the impact of transformation initiatives.
  • To identify, manage and where appropriate escalate risks and issues (financial, quality, performance).
  • To establish links and interdependencies with other projects.
  • To establish any barriers to transformation and identify and support the development of solutions.
  • To establish and maintain channels of communication with the multi-disciplinary workforce and patient and public involvement. This will require the communication of business sensitive information and management of potentially sensitive and emotive issues.
  • To provide service improvement recommendations underpinned with a robust business case.
  • To provide regular updates on progress against appropriate elements of the project plan and provide reports to the project meetings as required to any areas of work you lead on or contribute to.

About us

NHS Lincolnshire Integrated Care Board (ICB) is a strategic component of the Integrated Care System (ICS) across Lincolnshire delivering the commitments set out in the NHS Long Term Plan, alongside wider responsibilities around tackling health inequalities.

As a strategic commissioner we are responsible for meeting the needs of our population through commissioning high quality services. We seek to improve patient experience and are committed at looking at innovative ways we can improve care and offer more choice. Patients are at the heart of everything we do and it's important that they are involved not just in decisions about their individual care, but also in the decisions that shape the health services delivered locally.

In conjunction, with patient experience and the growing demands of our population; we are facing increasing financial challenge. We are required to reduce expenditure to sustainable levels (in alignment to the ICS 5 year strategic plan) which broadly fall into three types of scheme; system wide transformation, system wide efficiency, ICB only efficiency.

The ICB will promote good governance and proper stewardship of public resources in pursuance of its goals and in meeting its statutory duties. Good corporate governance arrangements are critical to achieving the ICB's objectives and financial sustainability
