This post is subject to receiving references which are deemed satisfactory by the ICB and must cover 3-5 years of employment or studying history. It would be helpful if you could advise referees in advance that they will be approached promptly and a punctual response would be much appreciated.
The ICB operates a non-smoking policy. Smoking is not permitted on any ICB premises or whilst on duty.
The ICB is committed to being an equal opportunities employer and in order to reflect the diversity of its population, positively encourages applications from all areas of the community, regardless of gender, race, faith, disability, age or sexual orientation. We are fully committed to equality and diversity and encourage applications from all sections of the community including users of mental health services.
Main duties of the job
- Design, build, develop and maintain database solutions using Microsoft SQL Server, SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), Python and other technologies, in collaboration with other members of the team;
- Provide technical knowledge to support ad-hoc projects and tasks;
- Transfer knowledge to co-workers;
- Develop innovative technical solutions to ensure the ICB complies with Information Governance guidelines whilst supporting the availability of patient level information to clinical users.
This role requires a blend of skills - technical proficiency in the Microsoft Business Intelligence tools, an open and team-centred approach to delivery, an enquiring and analytical style of working, plus the ability to communicate with a diverse range of stakeholders and customers.
You will be a highly motivated, intelligent individual who is an excellent problem solver capable of working both in a team and autonomously. Probably a graduate, you will have skills and experience in analytics, database / web development / programming, though not necessarily to an advanced level in every one of the areas in which we operate. You might already have some NHS experience, but will certainly be able to demonstrate the application of logical and creative thinking, and the aptitude and willingness to learn challenging programming techniques and apply them to the healthcare sector. We will coach you to develop your full potential in this important role.
About us
NHS Nottingham and Nottinghamshire Integrated Care Board (ICB) is a strategic component of the Integrated Care System (ICS) across Nottingham and Nottinghamshire. We were formed with the intention to improve population health and collaborate with local partners (NHS, Local Authority and Third Sector) to deliver high quality health and social care provision to our local population.
We have accountability for the system delivery of the ICS' priorities such as improving outcomes in population health and healthcare, tackling inequalities in outcomes, experience, and access, enhancing productivity and value for money, and helping the NHS support broader social and economic development.
We seek to improve the patient experience and are committed at looking at innovative ways we can improve care and offer access and choice to our patients. Patients are at the heart of everything we do and it's important that they are involved not just in decisions about their individual care, but also in the decisions that shape the health services delivered locally. In conjunction, with patient experience and the growing demands of our population; we are facing significant financial challenge. We are required to reduce expenditure to sustainable levels (ICS 5-year strategic plan).
The ambitions are great, but so are the opportunities to be part of our new and evolving organisation, to make positive impactful change to the health and social care agenda across Nottingham and Nottinghamshire.
