Job summary

We are looking for an experiencedData Managerto oversee the development and use of data systems. You will discover efficient ways to organize, store and analyse data with attention to security and confidentiality.

  • Receive, process and store data on behalf of the organisation, making these datasets available for business intelligence and analytics functions.
  • Normalising and conforming data using custom derivations to support the production of tailored outputs
  • Collating and bringing data held in silos together to flow seamlessly across the system.

Someone who can fully grasp the complexity of data management. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of databases and data analysis procedures, including the governance and policies that support good data management. You will also be tech-savvy and possess excellent troubleshooting skills.

The goal is to ensure that information flows timely and securely to and from the organization as well as within.

This post leads the Data Management Team serving Nottinghamshire/Nottinghamshire ICB and the responsibilities and priorities of the System Analytical Intelligence Unit (SAIU). The teams purpose is to manage developments in business intelligence capability across the geographical area of Nottingham and Nottinghamshire.

Main duties of the job

The Data Management Team Leader, with support from their team, will manage and maintain highly complex data flows from a wide range of sources and use them to produce clean, validated and timely structured data to support the strategic priorities and service improvement through business intelligence solutions.

As a major element of the post, the post-holder has direct responsibility for managing core data warehouses, strategic on-line information systems and business processes in support of the provision of the team's services. This responsibility includes assurance of system integrity, data quality, continuity of operation and changes and upgrades to systems or business processes where necessary. The post-holder will also, in conjunction with the Principal Developer, initiate, design and implement the development of new systems or processes where needs are identified.

To support the data, intelligence and information requirements of more than 130 General Practices with which over one million patients are registered.

To support the information needs of transformational opportunity, planning, commissioning and monitoring health/care delivery across Nottingham and Nottinghamshire.

The Data Management Team Leader defines and delegates areas of responsibility, manages resources and sets and monitors standards as well as appraising the work of the team and supporting skill development and training.
