WorkWell and Work Health are pioneering initiatives that support individuals with physical or mental health conditions to overcome barriers to employment, advocating for inclusive and healthy work-environments. Working collaboratively with employers, healthcare providers, and community services to promote sustainable work participation and recovery.

We are seeking an experienced and visionary Clinical Lead Occupational Therapist within the WorkWell Programme to lead integration across health, care and employment support. This role is pivotal in shaping holistic, person-centred employment support that bridges health and work.

You will be a registered Occupational Therapist with:

  • Significant experience in mental health, long-term conditions, or vocational rehabilitation.
  • Proven leadership and service development skills.
  • Strong analytical, planning, and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
  • A commitment to inclusive, recovery-focused practice.

Main duties of the job

  • Lead the design and delivery of integrated occupational therapy services within the WorkWell Programme.
  • Provide expert clinical leadership and supervision to multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Collaborate with employment services, health providers, and local authorities to promote inclusive work health approaches.
  • Support strategic planning, service evaluation, and quality improvement.
  • Act as a clinical escalation point for complex health and employment needs.
  • Develop and deliver training for health and employment professionals.

The role will be employed within Coventry and Warwickshire ICB . You will be supported by the Head of Allied Health Professions and Strategic Commissioning Lead for WorkWell.

  • Registration with HCPC as an Occupational Therapist
  • Experience of clinical leadership within a complex rehabilitation
  • Experience of working at a senior level in occupational therapy
  • Expert specialist knowledge and experience of reporting impact of occupational therapy outcomes
  • Proven ability to design, lead and evaluate education and training to improve practice

  • Experience of strong partnership and multi-agency working to deliver service change
  • Able to use initiative based on robust professional judgement with the aim of improving outcomes inline with organisation policies.
