Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated, enthusiastic, and innovative individual to join the Finance Directorate as Senior Finance Manager Financial Planning for Coventry and Warwickshire ICB.

Main duties of the job

Working on a hybrid basis the post holder will report to the ICB Head of Financial Planning, and will lead on the production of the ICB's short and medium-term financial plans including efficiency programmes, financial modelling, and monitoring, liaising with the System finance team to incorporate into an overall system plan.

NHS Coventry and Warwickshire Integrated Care Board (ICB) formed as a brand-new organisation in July 2022. The ICB is responsible for the planning, design, development, and commissioning (buying) of local health services. They put local GPs and healthcare professionals at the forefront of commissioning services for the local people.

In order to undertake this role, the ideal candidate will be CCAB/CIMA qualified, ambitious and a committed individual who is able to demonstrate proven post qualification experience of working at a senior level. Strong management and communication skills will be key to this role to ensure that they are able to provide efficient support to Head of Financial Planning as well as the wider finance directorate.

Experience

Essential

  • Significant experience of working at a senior level within a complex organisation.
  • Significant relevant financial management experience within a complex organisation.
  • Experience of liaising with senior staff / directors within and outside of own organisation.
  • Financial planning experience

Desirable

  • NHS finance experience

Training

Essential

  • Fully CCAB Qualified / Equivalent experience.
  • Evidence of participation in continuing professional development.

Knowledge

Essential

  • Knowledge of budget setting process and relevant techniques

Desirable

  • Awareness of current NHS policy direction and ability to translate these for own area of work

Communication

Essential

  • Must be able to articulate, provide and receive highly complex, multi stranded financial date containing sensitive or contentious information, negotiate with senior stakeholders on difficult and controversial issues, and present complex and sensitive information to large and influential audiences

Skills

  • Ability to produce formal reports to a professional standard and ability to present to Executive Directors and External parties.
  • Understanding of Microsoft Office Suite including Advanced Excel, Word and Excel spreadsheet modelling.

  • Ability to analyse and solve complex problems and make judgements on financial issues where there are a range of options
