Job summary

As a Clinical Commissioning Manager, you will play a crucial role in our mission to improve health and care services for the community. Tasked with providing clinical leadership and management of the Continuing Healthcare (CHC) including leading the day-to-day clinical service; verification of outcome decisions; individual case management, scheduling support, complaint responses.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring that professional nursing standards are maintained and that adult CHC nurses meet and maintain professional registration requirements, including mentoring, clinical supervision, and clinical re-validation.

You will also deputise for the Clinical Business Manager as and when required.

Main duties of the job

  • Provide strong clinical leadership/management and professional expertise in respect of verifications, individual case assessment and management for all CHC eligible adults.
  • Lead on recruitment and induction of new clinical staff.
  • Deputise for the Clinical Business Manager where appropriate.
  • Undertake complaints investigations for the clinical team; providing information to the ICB Complaints Manager within agreed timeframes and hold sensitive discussions with families, as required.
  • Support the implementation of clinical governance arrangements, where CWPT and the ICB are working in partnership.
  • Use clinical knowledge to verify S117 Aftercare recommendations, including ongoing treatment recommendations with independent providers.
  • Work with CWPT leads to ensure packages are commissioned that promote independence are safe, high quality and value for money.
  • To provide oversight and ensure submission of COP/S21a appeals and other court cases where the CWPT have completed the operational aspects.
  • Work with quality and contracting regarding placement issues
  • Work with joint commissioners regarding strategic commissioning of MH/LD/A frameworks and tenders
  • Provide advice and guidance on MH/LD/A presentations to the Children's Continuing Care service
  • Promote the personalisation agenda within Adult Continuing Health Care framework arrangements.

  • Take a leading role in the recruitment and onboarding of new clinical staff, fostering a skilled and dedicated team.
  • Step in as the Deputy for the Clinical Business Manager when necessary, demonstrating competence in decision-making and problem-solving.
