Job summary

Coventry and Warwickshire Integrated Care System are looking to recruit a Chief Allied Health Professional (AHP). This is a pivotal role for the ICS, as the Chief AHP for the system, the post holder will act as the Professional Lead for AHPs for the Integrated Care System (ICS) and will also lead the development and delivery of agreed collective priorities of the ICS for the AHP workforce. This will include the modernisation, redesign and innovation of clinical services bringing the most senior AHP leadership and highly complex clinical knowledge and experience to the ICS system team in order to deliver the ICS transformational aims actively, collaboratively and strategically. The ICB is ambitious in its vision for health and care integration across Coventry and Warwickshire and the liberating the potential and demonstrating the value of AHPs are key priorities within this integration journey

The post-holder will have a highly specialist set of strategic and leadership responsibilities for the whole Health and Care system in Coventry and Warwickshire.

The post holder will need to hold a valid registration with the Health and Care Professionals Council

Main duties of the job

To ensure that the AHP skillsets are utilised to maximum capacity to support clinical service design, ensuring a strong focus on maximising patients independence using a patient centred approach.

About us

NHS Coventry and Warwickshire (ICB) is seeking to recruit an experienced Allied Health Professional to be responsible for the strategic leadership and delivery of the AHP workforce programme across the ICS in the context of national policy, including the NHS Long Term Plan, NHS People Plan and ICS People Strategy.

The postholder will lead the AHP Faculty as the delivery vehicle of the ICS workforce programme for AHPs, increase AHP leadership & influence, AHP sustainability & growth and AHP retention & transformation, driving and enabling service redesign and workforce transformation for 21st century models of care.

The postholder will provide professional expertise and strategic advice to the ICS, ensuring the AHP contribution to the ICS People Strategy and workforce programmes, providing strategic, and professional leadership for all AHPs, acting as a point of contact and/or advice on professional issues, Covid-19 response and recovery.
