Job summary
Southampton, Hampshire, Isle of Wight & Portsmouth Local Maternity & Neonatal System (LMNS) are looking for two experienced PRINCE 2 project managers to join our programme management team. Previous experience working within the NHS or maternity is desirable but not essential. The Three Year Delivery Plan for Maternity & Neonatal Services published in March 2023 sets out the aims to make care, safer, more personalised and more equitable by listening women, support our workforce, developing and sustaining a culture of safety and meeting and improving standards and structures.
There are 2 positions available for this role.
Main duties of the job
The successful applicant will work closely with the LMNS Programme Manager and Quality & Safety lead to support delivery of the Maternity Transformation Programme, the NHS Long Term Plan, The Perinatal Quality Surveillance model and the Ockenden report. The role will focus on robust project management of documentation and reporting. This will include taking a lead on ensuring accurate and timely workstream and programme reporting, both internally and externally to our NHSE/I colleagues, management of risk, action, issue & decision logs, working with workstream leads to assure project progress and collecting and collating clinical quality and experience data for presentation to our leadership structure.

Identify areas of good practice and areas requiring service improvement, comparing these measures with local and national benchmarks. This will include undertaking demographic and prevalence analysis to inform commissioning intentions.
Provide coordination of and participate in relevant internal and external working groups and provide project advice, expertise and support where requested.
Develop detailed templates for project plans, action trackers, risk and issues logs that are systematically in line with the agreed milestones and key projects.
Provide relevant and timely specialist advice and guidance on own portfolio of projects and provide reporting as required.
Work with members of the Team to investigate the causes of any variance from target/plan and proactively contribute to the implementation of solutions.
