Job summary

We are looking to recruit an exceptional individual to join the Integrated Care Board as our Associate Director of All age Safeguarding and Looked After Children. Working with the Chief Nursing Officer and integrated safeguarding team, the Associate Director will provide clinical and strategic leadership, to deliver the statutory safeguarding and looked after children requirements across NHS Hampshire, Isle of Wight, Southampton and Portsmouth.

Innovative and dynamic in your approach you will be skilled at forging relationships at all levels across a wide network of agencies and organisations and able to support and motivate staff in this complex and demanding portfolio, to ensure a whole system approach to safeguarding and looked after children.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will take a strategic and professional lead on all aspects of the health service contribution and function to safeguard children, adults and looked after children (LAC), Mental Capacity and the legal framework regarding deprivation of liberty safeguards/liberty protection safeguards.

In undertaking these responsibilities and functions the post holder will, through line management of the team of Senior Designated Nurses / Professionals Safeguarding and LAC, enable the safeguarding functions of the ICB, and with the Chief Nursing Officer meet the requirements identified in statutory guidance.

You will work with the Chief Nursing Officer to engage with ICB, health and social care executive/board members, senior managers, clinicians, practitioners and Hampshire Constabulary, to provide effective expert advice and support on all matters safeguarding and looked after children and work collaboratively, to develop a strategic safeguarding vision across the health community and Integrated Care System of HIOW.
