Job summary

We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and committed individual to join our extremely busy and highly visible communications and engagement team.

We are looking for someone with passion and enthusiasm to take responsibility for the operational delivery of the community development and the business and local workforce engagement remit of the CCG.

Main duties of the job

You will:

· Provide expert advice on engaging with local communities and local businesses and their workforce.

· Lead on the development of engagement plans, projects and events in respect of local communities and local businesses and their workforce.

· Be responsible for the maintaining and development of existing engagement programmes namely Hull Health Champions and Working Voices including monitoring activity and measuring outcomes of these programmes.

· Develop and maintain strong working relationship with voluntary and community sector organisations and local businesses to ensure they have the information, training and support they require to support the vision of ‘creating a healthier Hull’.

Ideally educated to degree level in a relevant subject, or with significant relevant experience, we would like to hear from you if you are able to work both flexibly and effectively within a team and have good knowledge of community development and public engagement techniques and tools.

NHS Hull Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) is the NHS commissioning organisation which brings together 32 local GP practices and other health professionals to plan and design services to meet the needs of the registered local patient population of 303,104.

This role is integral to the delivery of the CCG’s engagement remit, taking responsibility for community engagement and engaging with working age adults through local businesses and workplaces. You will use multiple methodologies to ensure that views are heard and used to influence local health decision making processes.

  • Significant experience of creating and giving presentations to a varied group of internal and external stakeholders
  • Significant experience of successfully operating in a politically sensitive environment.
  • Evidence of continued professional development
  • Demonstrated experience of coordinating projects in complex and challenging environments
  • Demonstrated capability to plan over short, medium and long-term timeframes and adjust plans and resource requirements accordingly
  • Experience of setting up and implementing systems, processes and procedures.
  • Experience of managing risks and reporting.
  • Experience of drafting briefing papers and correspondence for senior managers.
  • Experience of monitoring budgets.

Desirable

  • Demonstrated experience of operating in a managerial capacity in an NHS environment

  • Evidence of continuous professional development

  • Ability to analyse complex issues where material is conflicting and drawn from multiple sources.
  • Ability to prepare and produce concise yet insightful communications for dissemination to senior managers and a broad range of stakeholders as required.
