Job summary
This is a significant opportunity for a health technology
professional to play a pivotal role in shaping the technology landscape for the
Kent and Medway Integrated Care Board, architecting, and delivering systems
that work across organisational boundaries to deliver tangible improvements to
the 2 million citizens of Kent and Medway.
The role will suit a pragmatic and tenacious technology
professional, adept at detail but also with strong influencing skills to work
with providers to build and deliver the next generation digital, data and
technology platforms enhancing health and care outcomes.
In addition to the substantive role, you will also act as
Deputy for the Chief Digital Transformation Officer, and represent the Kent and
Medway Integrated Care Board interests when working with Regional and National
teams.

Main duties of the job
The Chief Technology Officer
(CTO) will support the Chief Digital Transformation Officer in providing sound
technical leadership in all aspects of Digital Technology and Service Delivery
to provide quality digital patient and support services across the Kent and
Medway Healthcare system.
They will develop the digital
technology strategy and ensure alignment with business goals as well as focusing
on discovering and implementing new technologies that deliver efficiencies and
improved health care.
The Chief Technology Officer
will be responsible for providing expert technical advice to the Executive
Board on the direction of technology; giving assurance to the Board on digital
technology that is agile, fit for current and future purpose, safe and
resilient and offers value for money.
In addition to creating and
delivering a technology roadmap the Chief Technology Officer will
- Drive innovation and scale technology adoption
- Manage Electronic Healthcare Records
- Ensure best in class patient access to healthcare data and
services
- Manage technical risk, compliance and cyber
- Improve clinical and system workflows and patient care
- Work in collaboration with provider trusts, and cross
functional teams and stakeholders

- Broad understanding of digital technologies (micro) services architectures, mobile applications, systems integration)
- Thorough working knowledge of Digital, Cloud and Integration technologies including SOA.
- In depth knowledge of Cloud Architecture and Design Patterns - ability to apply cloud native tooling and approaches
- Experience of Cloud Operating Model implementation
- Educated to Masters level or equivalent level or equivalent experience of working at a senior level in specialist area.
