Job summary
Formed in March 2021 by the Staffordshire Police Fire and Crime Commissioner, the Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent Violence Reduction Alliance (VRA) is made up of representatives from across the public and private sectors, charities and community groups aiming to work together to strengthen the visibility, early identification, and partnership response to prevent violence and its associated harms.
Collectively we are working with local people and partners across health, the public sector, and the voluntary sector in innovative ways to improve health and wellbeing and reduce serious violence for all our communities. Our work is predicated on a public health approach to tackling violence, by working with a range of agencies to address the root causes. Our work specifically focuses on early intervention and prevention, with the aim to stop violence before it begins.
The opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, innovative, and experienced programme lead to implement, develop, and embed the Violence Reduction Alliance (VRA) Strategy and programme of work across the Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent Integrated Care System, supporting the delivery of the priorities of the VRA and Integrated Care Partnership Strategies.
This role represents an opportunity to help develop and deliver an ambitious programme and be a key partner in helping the ICS and the VRA achieve the best outcomes for children, families, and communities.
Main duties of the job
Work with the VRA Commissioning and Partnerships Manager and Head of Clinical Programmes to manage networks of senior NHS, public sector, and voluntary care sector colleagues across the VRA; to plan, deliver, evaluate programme impact relating to violence reduction, exploitation and safety. Support VRA partners to develop and deliver plans and share learning, monitor progress and performance. Provide strategic support, advice, leadership to build a sustainable commitment to developing, aligning workstreams for example, to youth exploitation, violence reduction and youth/young adult safety agenda.
Be responsible for supporting the commissioning of services, initiatives that aim to reduce serious violence and the harm caused. The ICS has a broad portfolio for prevention, safeguarding and the Strategy spans the whole lifecycle from preconception to ageing well including the intergenerational impact on health inequalities and prevention, contributing to our population living safe and healthy lives.
Work with partners to improve pathways for vulnerable communities to ensure they are able to access support and will help to provide a compelling vision for the VRA and a broader supporting role in the ICS' strategic ambitions. Provide oversight of their work to the appropriate programme Board/Group, working with leads across the VRA including the ICB, Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner and Staffordshire Police and will act as a champion and leader.
About us
The Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent NHS Integrated Care Board (ICB) is responsible for planning functions; managing the NHS budget and arranging the provision of health services in the geographical area.
LocationisHome based/hybrid working (most of posts). Travel on occasions to a Hub location with at least 1 days notice.
New starters are expected to collect IT equipment, from offices in Stoke-on-Trent, and if based at home are required to have appropriate desk/chair/ relevant equipment in compliance with DSE regulations
