Dental Access Coordinator

Job summary

The post holder will be a key member of the Dental Helpdesk and will act as an ambassador for the service by providing a central contact point for day time emergency dentalenquiries and directing callers to the most appropriate service for their needs.The post holder will manage their own workload and have an excellent telephone manner, dealing withenquiries in a professional and helpful way. Experience of working within a call centre team or experience ina customer focused role where delivering high quality customer service is essential. The post holder willneed to have standard keyboard skills and be familiar with using a range of IT software packages including Word, Excel and email.

This advert is for two Dental Access Coordinators with each vacancy being for 18.75 hours.

Working patterns for posts will be:

Week 1 - Monday and Tuesday - 8.00 - 16.00 Week 2 - Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday 8.00 - 16.00

Week 1 - Wednesday, Thursday, Friday 8.00 - 16.00 Week 2 - Thursday and Friday 8.00 - 16.00

Main duties of the job

  • Facilitating the delivery of outstanding care by applying customer care principles when providing routine and complex information and guidance to patients, carers, relatives or colleagues, both verbally and in writing. This includes communicating in a professional and compassionate manner, especially when there may be barriers to understanding for example anxious patients, cultural differences, and language or communication difficulties.
  • Ensuring the team operates effectively by undertaking comprehensive administrative tasks, such as handling team correspondence, scheduling appointments, clinics and meetings, managingagendas, diary management for the team, task related problem solving, maintaining stock of equipment and supplies and completion of standard forms, surveys and audits.
  • Providing assurance of compliance with Information Governance policy and Standard OperatingProcedures through maintaining patient records and or colleague records organisational reportsin an accurate and efficient manner.
