We are looking for registered nurses and/ or Midwives who are interested inbecoming a student Specialist Community Public Health Nurse (SCPHN) (Health Visiting) with a view to startinga 12 month training programme in January 2026.We provide an excellent learning environment facilitated by practice supervisors and assessors who willsupport you to become fully qualified through the University of Greenwich; all while being employed as a vitalpart of our friendly and professional team helping children to have the best possible start in life.You will be paid throughout your training and on successful completion you'll become a fully qualified Band 6SCPHN with a specialism in Health Visiting with lots of opportunities for career progression.We work in partnership with a wide variety of agencies including but not limited to local schools, family hubsand GPs on a challenging and rewarding caseload, and we strongly encourage creativity and new ideas.This is a community-based role with your duties being carried out between your home, community setting,client home or trust site.We have posts available at the following locations: Tonbridge and Malling, Tonbridge Wells, Sevenoaks andSwanley, Gravesend and Dartford
Main duties of the job
Your daily activities will be varied to include:
- promoting public health initiatives for example BFI, family partnership working, speech language andcommunication and parenting programmes
- assessing the emotional wellbeing of parents, carers, infants and child
- monitor and assess growth of infants 0-5 years
- Delivering packages of care e.g. healthy weight and nutrition, toileting, behaviour and sleep
- Identifying tongue tie and completing onward referral
- undertake family health needs assessment
- support child development through the completion of ASQ and social emotional questionnaires
- provide advice on vaccinations
- managing a caseload of families
- focusing on high impact areas set out in the healthy child programme
- Safeguarding of children and families
