Job summary

We are looking for an enthusiastic and dynamic Therapy Assistant Practitioner to join our friendly communityteam in Coxheath.The Community Rehabilitation Team and MDT Therapists are a team made up of occupational therapists,physiotherapists, therapy assistants and apprentices who deliver personalised rehabilitation care plans topatients in their own homes. Striving to achieve the best outcomes for the individuals we treat to ensure theyachieve their full potential and the greatest level of functional independence possible.The successful candidate will need to have experience as a therapy assistant and be confident to workindependently, supporting the therapy team to provide timely assessments and treatment interventions.Our Therapy Assistant Practitioners are unregistered support worker roles, whilst supported by our qualifiedtherapists they have responsibility for their own clinical caseload and waiting lists.You will need to have excellent communication skills to complete comprehensive assessments, and supportand motivate patients to participate in their rehabilitation programs.

Main duties of the job

  • Support the qualified therapists to deliver high quality care to patients in the setting.
  • To have sound clinical assessment skills
  • To be able to determine treatment plans and rehab goals.
  • Equipment provision and ordering
  • Supporting junior therapy assistants
  • To be competent in the use of IT systems to document patient care
  • Liaison with wider MDT

Driving is an essential requirement for this post and candidates will be required to have a full English drivinglicense to take on the role. As an autonomous practitioner delivering community care, it is a requirement of the role that you are able todrive and have access to a car (subject to the provisions of the Equality Act 2010).The post full time, but part time and flexible working patterns considered.
