Job summary

Are you interested in joining a Trust committed to your development?

Would you like to be part of an organisation that really values your well-being?

Do you want to treat people rather than conditions?

Here at KCHFT we are constantly working to improve the lives of our staff and our patients. We care for you so you can care for your patients.

Our "We Care" strategy means that our ambitions are to put our communities first, deliver a better patient experience and importantly, be a great place to work for all of our workforce.

These aren't just empty words either. At our "Outstanding" rated trust more than half of our workforce work flexibly, including compressed hours and term time only. More than 70% of our workforce feel we take positive action on health and wellbeing, and we aim to improve this. We are proud to say that we consistently score above the national average in our staff survey results, particularly for our focus on the well-being of our workforce.

And with the forward NHS vision being based on community care, there has never been a better time to join us.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for a Band 5 Community Nurse to join our team in Ramsgate.

As Community Nurses we support the nursing needs of house bound patients living in and around the areas of Ramsgate. We will enable and empower patients to self-care where possible so that patients can stay safe and well at home or in their chosen environment.

We provide valuable care, supporting people to manage their long-term conditions and maximise their independence, which in turn can prevent admission into hospital or enable a quicker discharge if they are admitted.

As a service, we may provide wound management, palliative and end of life care and symptom control and catheter care. We also take blood and administer injectable medication. Our aim is to ensure that our patients have access to the care that they need, at the time they need it.

Additional Working Pattern: 37.5 per week Mon-Sun shift 08:00 - 18:00
