Job summary

We are looking for a full-time Advanced Health Care Assistant (AHCA) to work in our Ridge Primary Care Network, to work with our community nursing teams, who play an important role in supporting patients by caring for them in the comfort of their own home.

Your role will help the NHS meet the needs of elderly, disabled or vulnerable patients who may not be able to easily visit the GP surgery or hospital. You will work both autonomously and collaboratively within a supportive environment, ensuring excellent patient care whilst reassuring and helping families along the way.

You will be based at Harrietsham and will work closely with our GP colleagues and other community services. We help meet your career ambitions through our flexible in-house learning and development programs including many health and wellbeing opportunities available to you.

Successful applicants are required to have the qualification level specified in the person specification in order to carry out the job, however, we do welcome applications who are currently looking to complete their level 3 NVQ or equivalent recognized qualification.

Main duties of the job

You'll need to have good IT skills, and will require clinical skills, for example phlebotomy, simple wound dressings, bandaging, injection technique, all of which we can support with learning and competencies.
