Job summary
We are looking for an enthusiastic and innovative education specialist / teacher with experience of supportingschool age children with Speech, Language and Communication Need (SLCN) to work within our Children'sTherapies Team in East Kent (Canterbury & Thanet). This is a newly created position within the team, meaningthat the successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop the role including work within early years.Our school years' speech and language therapy (SLT) service is working through a transformation process andthe new service delivery model will be based on the Balanced System approach introducing more universal andtargeted offers to support professionals and families.This post-holder will also help to bridge the gap between the Local Authority's Specialist Teaching andLearning Service and the local SLT team to ensure that we are meeting our shared objective to inform andempower professionals to support children with SLCN.
Main duties of the job
You will work alongside our School Years Clinical Lead SLT to develop the new mainstream service.You will provide specialist teaching expertise and advice to improve the quality of teaching and learning forchildren with SLCN within a therapies context.You will be enthusiastic and innovative and work with the wider SLT team to improve practitioners' capacityto raise achievement and attainment of children and overcome the barriers to learning of children with SLCNby modelling good practice and developing training.
