Job summary
We are looking for a Band 6 Physiotherapist specialising in stroke recovery to join our team based in Westbrook Stroke Unit in Margate.
Westbrook Inpatient unit is the stroke rehabilitation unit for east Kent. We provides specialist stroke rehabilitation for complex patients. Most of the stroke patients are referred from the acute stroke unit at Kent and Canterbury Hospital.

Main duties of the job
As a ward team we work differently with the focus on improving outcomesfor patients by working across traditional boundaries. We have a 24/7 approach to rehabilitation with all the staff working together to achieve shared patient goals.
Our team consists of registered nurses, health and rehabilitation care assistants, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, a dietitian, a speech and language therapist, rehabilitation assistants, care management staff, a pharmacist and our visiting medical officers. We are overseen by a Matron and AHP Team Lead.
You will be delivering excellent physio based care to our patients and working on partnership with the team to help our patients recover in the quickest time possible.
Although we treat our community wards as a home away from home for our patients, our ultimate goal is to get them home to make a full recovery in the place they feel at their best.

- HCPC registered Physiotherapist. Minimum of 3 years post qualification experience in a health care setting. Health related degree and evidence of relevant post graduate development at Level 6. Experience at a band 5 level of working in physical rehabilitation. Experience in or a desire to develop stroke rehabilitation skills.
