The West Kent MSK Physiotherapy service is the primary provider for outpatient MSK services in West Kent. We operate from three departments; the Churchill Centre in Aylesford, SevenoaksHospital and, Tonbridge Cottage Hospital.We provide outpatient MSK Physiotherapy services to the residents of West Kent. Whilst workingclosely with our colleagues' in other areas, to provide a Kent wide service. We form part of theIntegrated Musculoskeletal (IMSK) service which incorporates the Community Orthopaedic andFirst Contact Practitioner team and, the Community Chronic pain team.This role will involve working within the West Kent leadership team and the service wide clinicalgovernance group. Our aim is to ensure the attainment and maintenance of high clinicalstandards, contributing to the management of patient flow and experience, in line with nationalguidance.
You will be required to travel across trust sites in a timely manner. This role will be mainly basedat the Churchill Centre in Aylesford. However, as part of the leadership team you will be expectedto work across locations in West Kent and, ad hoc throughout Kent as the service demands.If a suitable candidate is not found from the interview process, this role may be offered as adevelopmental opportunity at band 6 level. It would be expected that this candidate, following astructured competency framework, would reach competence required for the band 7 role within a6-month probationary period.
Main duties of the job
Your main responsibilities will include managing a complex clinical caseload of musculoskeletal patients as an autonomous practitioner. Developing and maintaining a high level of skill andknowledge in all areas of clinical practice.You will be participating in the education and training of staff and students. Take a lead role in theorganization, implementation and evaluation of In-Service Training. The job may involve somevirtual working both in a management and clinical capacity, either from a base or from home.The role is split in a ratio of 70% clinical and 30% non-clinical responsibilities.
You will be able to consolidate and build on your skills with regular in-service training, clinicalsupervision and allocated personal CPD time; there are also Trust-wide Clinical Special InterestGroups available. We have an established appraisal system to actively support your ContinuedProfessional Development.
