Job summary

We are looking for Band 6 nurse to join one of our Community Nursing teams based at HawkhurstCommunity Hospital, Weald.

The service operates seven days a week from 8am - 6pm. Theseextended working hours allows more flexible working for anyone looking for more flexible hours.Weekend working is generally on a 1:4 ratio with days off during the week.

Main duties of the job

There are two teams supporting patients registered with GP practices working in the Hawkhurstarea and surrounding villages within the Weald Primary Care Network. Please note the communitynurses within this area cover boundaries of East Sussex and Maidstone.

Each team has two senior nurses who to take responsibility for a defined geographical area, andprovide clinical leadership to their Band 5, Band 4 and Band 3 staff. The team will work together tomanage caseload patients delivering a high-quality service.

Candidates will be expected to be experienced nurses with relevant transferrable clinical skills.However, candidates wanting to move to a community setting with advanced clinical skills orexpertise will be considered. KCHFT is keen to support development and therefore, candidates withoutthe specialist District Nurse qualification or having a recognised advanced clinical skills/module willbe considered or offered for trainee posts.

Staff will be required to drive their own car and are able to claim mileage costs and access the NHScar lease provision, following their probationary period.

  • Registered health care professional (NMC registration).
  • Health related degree and evidence of relevant post graduate development at Level 6.
  • Evidence of Specialist qualifications relevant to area of practice (examples specialist practitioner district nursing, non-medical prescribing; mentorship, coaching, clinical expertise).

Desirable

  • PTLLS/DTLLS, PGCE or Certificate in Education.
  • Management or supervisory qualification or experience of study.
  • Working towards Master level study

Experience

  • Experience in area of practice.
