Job summary

We have vacancies for Band 2 Health Care Assistants in our community hospital based in Tenterden, Kent. Wewould love to hear from you, whether you are new to the NHS, more experienced or are interested in returningto practice and share our passion for excellent patient care.You will be part of an inpatient multi-disciplinary team at the Community Hospital, which includes Nurses,Dietitians, Pharmacists and Therapists. The Medical Model adopted means that the unit is Nurse-led. You willbe working towards patient-centred rehabilitation goals, however also caring for patients who are sub-acute,ensuring safe discharge for patients into a community setting.As a Health Care Assistant, you would be supporting the trained Nurses in the delivery of care. This role willinclude enabling personal care to patients in line with their rehabilitation goals. Training will be given forwound care, monitoring vital signs and observations, safe handling of the patients, supporting patients withtheir nutrition and hydration, and taking an active role in discharge planning. For the minority, you could alsosupport end of life care.As a member of our team, you can expect a huge variety of work and being part of a team who go above andbeyond and take pride in the service we offer our patients. Main duties of the job

Therapy-led training is provided for Health Care Assistants to enhance knowledge.The GIRFT (Getting It Right First Time) Model underpins our patient flow through their pathway, with ourdedicated Bed Manager ensuring we support the stepping up and the stepping down of patients.This is what our patients say about us:o "Staff are supportive and helpful, and reactive to my needs."o "Very caring and attentive staff"o "Enjoyed food and staff were all friendly and caring"We welcome applicants wishing to further their knowledge and skills and gain the Care Certificate.
