We have an exciting opportunity to join our voice team.If you have a passion for working with voice patients in a supportive team this is the job for you.We will give you the opportunity to develop your voice skills and competencies in a specialist and wellrespected team.You will manage your own voice caseload with support from a team of experienced speech andlanguage therapists and access to specialist supervision. Main duties of the job

The Adult Speech and Language Therapy service in East and West Kent provides services to peopleover the age of 18 who require assessment, diagnosis and management of acquired swallowing andcommunication disorders.The voice service consists of SLT's in all 4 of our localities across Kent. They meet regularly and haveaccess to specialist supervision and training.This post will work with a range of voice patients across the East - mainly in Margate and Whitstable.The voice therapists are part of the bigger team who see patients in clinic, community hospitals, carehomes or in their own homes. We are a team of more than 25 SLTs and associate practitioners. Weprovide regular supervision and in-service training and have specialist advisors in areas includingdysphasia, dysphagia, motor speech disorders, dementia, dysfluency and voice.We use the East Kent Outcome Measurement System (EKOS) which supports evidence based practiceand clinical reflection.

  • Health & Care Professions Council - Licence to Practice as a Speech & Language Therapist
  • Evidence of successful completion of relevant post graduate short courses in voice

Desirable

  • Membership of or attendance at relevant RCSLT Clinical Excellence Networks
  • Member of British Voice Association
  • Attendance at relevant postgraduate training courses such as Huckabee dysphagia course

Experience

  • Relevant experience (ideally minimum 18 months) as a band 5 SLT working with an adult caseload
  • Some experience of assessing and treating voice patients

Knowledge

  • Well established knowledge of assessment and therapy tools and evidence of skilled application relevant to the client group
