We have an exciting opportunity for a Physiotherapist interested in working with children to join our team in East Kent.
The Children's Therapies Team is an integrated therapies team providing Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Speech and Language Therapy, Specialist Nurse Advisors and Care Co-ordinators to children 0 - 19 years within KCHFT. The successful applicant will join our integrated therapies team and will be supported by our Physiotherapy Team Lead and the network of Clinical Leads across Kent.
We work closely with colleagues from other health, education and social care teams to provide an integrated team around the child approach. This is a full time post working both face to face from clinics, within the community such as Nurseries and Schools and also remotely which can be worked from home.
Main duties of the job
As a Paediatric Physiotherapist you will assess, plan, deliver and evaluate intervention for neurodevelopmental and neurological conditions. Support parent/carers/other professionals to maximise potential.
You will work as part of a Multi Disciplinary Team (MDT) and in partnership with health, education and social services colleagues.
Establish and maintain effective communication and working relationships with wider MDT, for example, wheelchair and equipment services. Support mainstream schools, early years settings and local special schools.
Develop integrated care plans in partnership with the child, young person and / or family recommending and supporting interventions that are appropriate at a universal, targeted and specialist level.
Participate in clinical supervision and to work as part of an integrated team with Therapy Assistants, OTs, PTs, SLTs, Care Co-ordinators and Specialist Nurse Advisors offering support to colleagues as appropriate to knowledge and skills.
