Join us at Kent Community Health NHS Foundation Trust (KCHFT), train to become a qualified Physiotherapist and gain a BSc (Hons) degree in Physiotherapy whilst you work.
We are recruiting for a physiotherapy apprentice role in East Sussex within the following localities:
oGrove House, Crowborough serves the Wealden and Lewes areas
oChaucer House, Polegate serves the Eastbourne, Hailsham, Polegate, Seaford and the Havens areas
oOre Clinic, Hastings serves the Hastings, Rother, Bexhill and St Leonards areas
The East Sussex Children's Integrated Therapy and Equipment Service (ESCITES) provide specialist assessment, training and advice; for some children the team offers therapy intervention individually or in groups. Training and support are also offered for parents, carers and staff in early years settings and schools.
You will be employed as an Apprentice Physiotherapist at Kent Community Health NHS Foundation Trust (KCHFT). You will work as part of the ESCITES team offering specialist services for disabled children from birth to 19-years-old. Services are offered to children who have developmental difficulties which significantly impact on their function. This could include neurological or movement disorders; respiratory disorders (for example, cystic fibrosis); speech, language and communication difficulties, as well as disabled children who require specialist equipment and housing adaptations.
Main duties of the job
The Physiotherapist apprenticeship is a new and innovative route to 'Learn while you Earn' and combines 4 years of clinical employment, work based learning, and academic learning.
UEL entry requirements are as follows:
Level 2 Functional Skills or GCSE: Maths and English grade C/4 and above.
120 UCAS points, this can be demonstrated by either of the following:
A - Levels: Has to include biology or chemistry at a grade B
BTEC: Applied Science extended diploma Level 3
Access Course - They will accept an access course (to higher education). 60 Credits minimum, with 45 credits at level 3 and 24 credits and level 3
science distinctions (biology, chemistry and physics).
We would also like to see evidence of your understanding of the Physiotherapist role.
Whilst you will be based in one specific team, your placements will give you a variety of learning environments working across both.
During the apprenticeship you will develop skills and knowledge that will allow you to work in today's dynamic and changing healthcare environment.
Internal and external clinical placements to gain an appreciation of the different areas of the local healthcare service. As many of our bases are
away from public transport routes, it is a requirement of the role that you are able to drive and have access to a car (subject to the provisions of
the Equality Act 2010)
