We are looking for an enthusiastic and adaptable Consultant in Genitourinary Medicine/HIVto join our caring and progressive team in Chatham.

We're a close team but we're never exclusive, if you can bring a professional approach and fresh ideas we would love to hear from you.

This is an exciting opportunity to join our fully integrated sexual health service rated outstanding by the CQC. This is a full-time substantive post based in Medway at our dedicated clinic at 4 Clover Street in Chatham.

Main duties of the job

Our team delivers high-quality evidence-based care to people to support their sexual health needs.

You'll be part of an enthusiastic and passionate team dedicated to keeping people in Kent and Medway safe and well, now and in later life, by providing contraception, treatment for sexually-transmitted infections, and advice and support to maintain healthy relationships.

You'll provide sound clinical judgement and leadership to support our team to safely deliver patient-centred care, and consistently monitor quality and progress in a challenging but rewarding environment.

Qualifications

Essential

  • MBBS, MBChB or equivalent Full GMC registration with a licence to practice MRCP or MRCOG or equivalent On the General Medical Council's Specialist Register by CCT in Genitourinary Medicine or a. Genitourinary Medicine Specialty Trainee who is within 6 months of being admitted to the GMC's specialist register by date of interview or b. SAS doctor actively working towards CESR who is expected to achieve it within 6 months by date of interview or c. European Community rights

Desirable

  • Higher degree e.g. MD, PhD or similar DFSRH Letters of competence in sub-dermal implants & intrauterine techniques Qualified clinical and educational supervisor Diploma in HIV

Experience

Essential

  • Evidence of broad-based training experience and competence in Genitourinary Medicine and HIV.

Desirable

  • Experience of Public Health activities Experience with outreach teams and working with vulnerable groups and hard-to-reach populations Experience with Young Peoples Services. Experience of setting up and evaluating new sexual health or outreach services Experience in sexual and reproductive health to DFRH level
