Job summary

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Part time Band 4 Dental Nurse in Community Dental Services.

We are seeking to appoint someone who is passionate about delivering a high-quality standard of care to our patients.

The range of services includes Sedation, Special Care Dentistry, Paediatric Dentistry, Domiciliary care, Bariatric and Dental Mobile service (Homeless/Medium secure unit).

You will need to be able to work in a very busy environment whilst remaining calm and be able to demonstrate a good understand of and commitment to delivering excellent standards of care. A dental nurse with specific responsibility for providing chair side Dental Nursing for special care group of patients in clinical setting and on outreach.

You will be required to have the qualification level specified in the person specification in order to carry out the job, however, we do welcome applicants from individuals wishing to further their knowledge and skills and to gain this recognized qualification, which we will support.

Main duties of the job

  • You will be delivering high quality customer services to patients and visitors
  • Providing chair side assistance in clinic to our special care group of patients
  • Visiting patients in the community settings such as domiciliary, Homeless centres and the medium secure unit in mobile dental unit.
  • You will also be covering reception duties and supporting the entire dental team.
  • Undertake specific roles as and when directed by the Dental Nurse team leader to support the day to day running of the clinics
  • Implementing service initiatives/developments to ensure compliance with regulatory standards including CQC, Dental Practice Inspections, Standard Operating Procedures, Health & Safety Risk Assessment

You will need to be able to demonstrate strong leadership, with the ability to work independently, proactively and under pressure.

  • NEBDN Certificate in Dental Nursing/NVQ 3 City and Guilds in Oral Health or recognised equivalent GDC Registered Functional Skills at level 2 Literacy and Numeracy

Desirable

  • Post\tQualification in \tRA/IV Sedation Radiography

Experince

Essential

  • A minimum of 2 years post qualification experience Experience with Microsoft Packages and Dental software Proven ability to work within a team
