Job summary

We are looking for a Band 3 Foot Care Assistant within Kent Community HealthNHS Foundation Trust

You will join one of the largest and forward-thinking Podiatry Departments in the Country. This role is for a highly motivated and professionalFoot Care Assistant to provide high quality podiatric care for patients withpathological foot conditions and those individuals at risk of developing seriousfoot health complications.A comprehensive corporate induction programme is given at the commencementof employment. As well as this the Podiatry Department offers its ownpreceptorship package covering all aspects of peer review, clinical supervision,support and mentoring.

A Competency programmes is used for staff to ensure all work is to a high clinical standard which can lead to future opportunities forcareer development into a chosen specialist area which can be supported withinthe service.The Department embraces the use of new ways of working using virtualconsultations, Wound Matrix and Rio for clinical documentation.

Main duties of the job

You're required to have excellent clinical skills to deliver a range of Podiatry treatments for patients in Kent. You will work with the local team to ensure service provisions within the team are run effectively and efficiently.

The role includes the provision of foot health education and carries out both nonpathological and pathological nail treatments.

The service is delivered in Community Clinics, Health Centres, GP surgeries, Acuteand Community Hospital Sites, Prisons, Mental health units and patient's ownhome. All staff are given the opportunity to get involved in a wide variety andscope of practice.   • Relevant level 3 qualification (NVQ / QCF Diploma or certificate of care / Advanced apprenticeship ) or equivalent
  • Functional Skills at Level 2 (Literacy and numeracy/ GCSE grade A-C or equivalent in English and Maths)

Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience as a Healthcare Assistant / Worker in a health or social care setting
  • Experience of working as part of a team
  • Experience with the use of Microsoft Office and a variety of IT packages (E- Pay / E-roster / AT-P / CIS)

  • Awareness of developments in the NHS
