Job summary
The post-holder will be responsible for the development and maintenance of the Trust's IT Systems' Integration Strategy that serves to integrate an increasing number of systems within the Trust.
You will have responsibility for implementing the strategic direction and technical administration for all Trust Microsoft SQL databases including those currently in production and planned for future implementation.
You will be responsible for the interfacing of clinical and corporate systems which can significantly improve operational performance and directly impact day-to-day patient care, providing expertguidance on the best course of action.
You will be responsible for creating and monitoring feeds from the Trust's clinical patient information systems to the Kent and Medway Care Record (KMCR).
You will be a key member of a team where teamwork is essential. They will ensure that applications are designed and developed to a high standard and in line with industry standards, and where administering Trust technical databases, will work closely with members of the IT Infrastructure Team to provide positive outcomes.
You will ensure that any database developments consider cyber security as part of the system design to minimise the risk of data loss and / or unauthorised access to data. This includes contributing tothe continued maintenance of Trust Integration strategy, reviewing security policies aligned to relevant legislation and researching the latest tools available.
Main duties of the job
The ICT Directorate is responsible for the delivery of a range of services to the 5,500 staff employed by the Trust, covering the following areas:
Information Governance services.
Core IT services including service desk, field engineering, infrastructure.
IT project management, applications management, and training.
Electronic patient record system support and configuration.
Clinical safety management - DCB0129 / DCB0160 / DTAC compliance.
The ICT Directorate is also responsible for delivering services to several partner organisations:
Kent and Medway Child Health Information Service (on behalf of NHS England).
Kent and Medway Care Record (on behalf of Kent and Medway Integrated Care Board, Kent CountyCouncil and Medway Council).
Referral Management Centre (on behalf of Kent and Medway Integrated Care Board).
Robotic Process Automation (on behalf of a number of provider organisations in Kent and Medway).
