Job summary

The West Kent Therapy Service is looking to recruit an enthusiastic and talented Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join our established Community Rehabilitation and MDT TherapyTeam.

This post is within the vibrant service based at the Coxheath Clinic made up of Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists and Therapy Assistants. We provide comprehensive assessments, rehabilitation and moving and handling solutions for patients in their own homes in rural and urban areas across the locality. We also provide intervention to somepatients in group settings.

The service responds to the rehabilitation needs of adults of all ages and backgrounds with a wide range of problems including, elderly care, complex co-morbidities, neurological,and orthopaedic.

Locally we are working closely with our clinical partners on new developments to enhance our excellent patient-centered care. Striving to achieve the best outcomes for the individuals we treat to ensure they achieve their full potential following a hospital admission or period of illness, and to keep those living in their own homes safe with the greatestlevel of functional independence possible.

You must be an HCPC registered Occupational Therapist and will be required to travel around the Trust in a timely manner.

Main duties of the job

Alongside this we will support you to develop your people management skills, equipping you as a future leader in our dynamicorganisation

  • Completing comprehensive and holistic new patient assessments
  • Designing individual rehabilitation plans and goal setting.\
  • Delivering and adapting Occupational Therapy interventions.
  • Collaboration with MDT\
  • Equipment provision and ordering
  • Supervising Therapy Assistants and Apprentices
  • Clinical education of students on placement
