Job summary
The TB Nursing Service is looking for a highly motivated nurse to join its community team of nurses and admin staff in north Kent. The service is interested in hearing from applicants with either direct experience of working with TB and BCG vaccination or those with transferable skills who are motivated to learn about the specialism and gain experience by working with our highly knowledgeable and skilled staff.
Main duties of the job
The post involves providing high quality care to adults, children and babies; running BCG vaccination clinics, case managing TB patients, undertaking compliance and welfare checks, running TB screening clinics, liaising with respiratory consultants, microbiologists and other agencies. Applicants will be expected to see patients own homes, clinics and complete outreach work in the community. The team also embraces digital platforms and use video and telephone calls for patient care. The main focus of this post will initially be running the neonatal BCG vaccination programme. The post holder will need to work autonomously and as part of a team. The role will also involve acting as a resource to others; providing training and support to other health care professionals. We are looking for applicants who are flexible and happy to work over a large geographical area. It is essential that applicants have their own car and full drivers license and are confident and happy to drive long distances.
Additional Working Pattern: 30 hours per week, 7.5 hours 4 days a week.
