Main duties of the job
The GP Clinical Lead for Urgent Treatment Centres (UTC) and GP Out of Hours (GPOOH) service provides senior medical leadership across urgent primary care services delivered as part of the Integrated Urgent and Emergency Care (UEC) system. The role ensures services are clinically safe, compliant with NHSE service specifications, and fully integrated with NHS 111, ambulance services, emergency departments, and community pathways. The post-holder will have leadership responsibility supporting system flow, patient access, and high-quality outcomes across 24/7 services combined with an active clinical practice. The clinical practice can be undertaken in primary care, urgent or emergency care by a registered General Practitioner and requires separate contractual arrangements from this leadership role. These arrangements can be facilitated via the Trust if the postholder wishes to work within the UTC/GPOOH.
